Napoli are still hoping Mauro Icardi will change his mind and agree to join the Partenopei, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Inter would also like the striker to have second thoughts about staying in Milan, but they have already seen Icardi reject moves to Roma, Monaco and Arsenal.
Juventus remain another option for Maurito, but nobody from the Bianconeri has ever begun talks with Inter over a deal.
CdS reported: “There isn’t any sign from his entourage that Icardi might reconsider Napoli’s offer, despite the fact Wanda Nara is keen to accept the transfer so that her husband can finally become a footballer again.
“But with only a few days left before the transfer window shuts, it’s always worth leaving a small door open.”
Napoli are ready to finalise a deal with free agent Fernando Llorente, but Aurelio De Laurentiis and Cristiano Giuntoli met yesterday and decided to wait a little longer, just in case Icardi decides to come after all.
Steven Zhang would not be willing to countenance a deal with Juventus, having told reporters in February he would ‘never’ sell Icardi to Inter’s arch rivals.
The Nerazzurri’s president could potentially change his own mind if Juve were prepared to discuss a swap deal involving Paulo Dybala.
There is no indication talks between the clubs are about to begin, though.
