Alexis Sanchez bid a 10-minute farewell to his Manchester United teammates yesterday before flying to Italy for his move to Inter, according to the Manchester Evening News.
El Nino Maravilla received a hero’s welcome at Malpensa Airport as he arrived to complete a medical in the evening.
But the forward did not turn his attention towards his new adventure until he had visited United’s training ground in Carrington for one final time.
Sanchez made his final goodbyes before boarding a private jet and heading out to Milan.
Inter officially announced Cristiano Biraghi as their latest summer signing on Thursday morning and Sanchez’s arrival should be confirmed shortly.
He will sign on a season-long loan with Inter reportedly agreeing to contribute €5 million towards his annual salary, slightly less than 50%.
Sanchez is unlikely to join up with his new teammates in time to be included in Antonio Conte’s squad for the match against Cagliari on Sunday.
He scored just five goals in 45 appearances for United after joining from Arsenal in January 2018.
