Romelu Lukaku is convinced Antonio Conte is the perfect leader for Inter’s new-look side.

The Belgian scored on his full debut for the Nerazzurri when they beat Lecce 4-0 at San Siro on Monday.

Conte is determined to end Juventus’ dominance in Serie A this season and Lukaku’s first impressions of his new boss are extremely positive.

He told Sky Sport: “He’s very well-prepared tactically, he’s a very good motivator and a great leader for our group.

“With him in charge we have to work hard every day to be certain we won’t lower the bar.”

Inter’s welcome video for Lukaku earlier this month referred to the striker as a friendly giant, a description the former Manchester United forward appeared to like.

“I’m a good guy, at least I think I am,” he added.

“I try to be kind with everyone, I respect people and I’m a relaxed type. When people ask for a photo I make myself available.”

Lukaku also revealed he had forbidden his new teammates from speaking to him in English, in a bid to speed up his integration at Inter.

“I’ve asked them to talk to me in Italian,” he explained.

“I understand the language, sometimes I struggle to express myself but I hope I’ll be able to speak it fluently soon.

“I’m trying to ensure I can adapt to life here as quickly as possible.”
