Romelu Lukaku is aware that he and his Inter teammates’ performance in the 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague in their opening match in the Champions League group stage was not good enough and that they have to do better in future.

“The first half was very difficult for us: Slavia played with great physicality. We tried to score more but today it was not a good match from us, first of all because we didn’t win. This week we will have to work a lot more,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s in-house channel Inter TV.

He then discussed the situation with his back, which he tweaked during the warm-up prior to Inter’s 1-0 win over Udinese and what the team need to do.

“This morning I was a bit sore but I will be training with the rest of the team tomorrow. The team has to work every day to reach the goals that have been set.

“We have to follow the road that an ambitious club such as ourselves has in mind. Everyone who plays against Inter must be made to feel that it is difficult for them and we will be prepared for it.”
