Inter & AC Milan Knock Back Milan Council’s Offer To Buy San Siro

Inter and AC Milan have rejected the Milan city council’s proposal to buy San Siro from them for a sum of €70 million according to a report from ANSA.

The two clubs will meet with council officials at Milan’s city hall this evening to present their feasibility project for the proposed new stadium that will replace the historic San Siro stadium.

Inter chief executive Alessandro Antonello told the news agency: “All the research shows that building a new stadium and a multi-functional city district is the best solution.

“The meeting is further confirmation of the openness and shared views of the clubs regarding a project that we consider to be of great value for the city, for future generations and for the fans.”

Milan president Lionel Scaroni added: “Next week, on September 24th, we will present the projects of the two finalists for the new multi-functional district. They will be presented to Milanese citizens and the clubs supporters with a view to asking them to provide their suggestions for the projects.”
