Matteo Politano could come into the starting XI for Inter for this weekend’s first Derby della Madonnina of the season according to a report from Milan based news outlet Corriere della Sera.

Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku started Tuesday night’s match against Slavia Prague in the Champions League but really struggled to connect like they had in Inter’s first two matches of the season, in which they scored three goals between them.

Politano meanwhile came off the substitutes bench in the 1-1 draw with the reigning champions of the Czech Republica and made a noticeable impact, something which has made Inter boss Antonio Conte think about starting him from the beginning on Saturday night ahead of Lautaro Martinez.

The 26-year-old has made four appearances across all competitions for Inter this season following his permanent switch to the club from Sassuolo but has been unable to contribute either a goal or an assist
