Former Genoa Simone Braglia has called for people to calm down when it comes to hyping up certain young players such as Inter’s Ionut Radu who has little in the way of experience.
“It is still too early to give a definitive evaluation of his talent. He is considered as a player who will have a great future and I obviously wish him well but I also believe that it is premature to give such a judgement on a player who has only 20 Serie B appearances and one season as a starter in Serie A,” he said in an interview with CalcioMercato.com.
“Before understanding the actual value of a player, he must have played several seasons at high levels. It is a general discourse, not referring only to Radu. Yet more and more teams get caught up in the euphoria believing that a player is a phenomenon after only a handful of appearances.”
Radu, who is currently out on loan at Genoa, is expected to replace current Inter number one Samir Handanovic but Braglia believes that the Romanian still has some way to go to be on the level of the Slovenian.
“At the present time he is nowhere near to Samir Handanovic. Playing regularly at Genoa will not do him any harm but he still needs to work on a few things, even on a physical level.
