Former Inter manager José Mourinho revealed to Italian talk show Tika Taka today that he has no plans to return to Italy in the near future.
“I don’t think [my future] will be in Italy.”
Mourinho, who is written in Inter’s history as the first manager in Italian football history to have won a treble, spoke about his decision to accept the Real Madrid following the campaign.
“Moratti is a friend, he is my president. The story of the treble was fantastic. After Madrid, if I had returned to San Siro to celebrate, I would never have left Inter again. When you say goodbye to a family it’s a hard thing to face, that night I already knew I was going to leave, I couldn’t say no to Real Madrid for the third time.”
Most recently Mourinho worked as the coach of Premier League side Manchester City, whom he won the Europa League with in the 2016/17 season.
