Inter’s ‘GDS’ defence of Diego Godin, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar will face their hardest test yet tomorrow when they take on Barcelona according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Antonio Conte’s rearguard have been not only the best defence in Italy but in all of European football’s top five leagues, having allowed just two goals in six matches.

In all competitions, Inter have conceded three goals which is proof that Inter have an absolutely solid back-line and because of this, the Nerazzurri can go to Camp Nou without fear of their star studded attack.

The leader of the defence is Diego Godin. The veteran Uruguayan defender joined Inter on a free transfer in the Summer and knows Barcelona extremely well, having faced them several times during his time with Atletico Madrid.

At Inter, he has had to change the way he has played but the early signs show he has managed this quite alright. One of the most notable changes is the freedom he has to attack.

Milan Skriniar is slowly but surely getting used to the new three man defence whilst it has only been a matter of dusting off the cobwebs for Stefan de Vrij, who played the system a lot at Lazio.
