No less than seven Inter players have already exceeded 1000 minutes out on the pitch across all competitions this season, according to a report in today’s print edition of Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Samir Handanovic and Milan Skriniar have been ever present and played all 1350 minutes of the Nerazzurri’s 15 games this term, then behind them are the indispensable Marcelo Brozovic (1331 minutes), Romelu Lukaku (1122 minutes), Stefan de Vrij (1105 minutes), Lautaro Martinez (1070 minutes) and Nicolo Barella (1026 minutes).
Inter’s arch rivals Juventus by comparison have just four players to have exceeded 1000 minutes and this is partly down to the abundance of players that manager Maurizio Sarri is able to call upon.
The report goes on to state that defending Champions League champions Liverpool, who have played 19 games across all competitions already this season, have a whole 9 players with over 1000 minutes under their belts with defender Virgil van Dijk playing a total of 1560 minutes.
