In today’s print edition, Tuttosport have claimed that Inter manager Antonio Conte wants his team properly competing for the Serie A title this season and wants a team capable of winning the title next season.
Conte earns €12 million per season, a salary which puts him right in the firing line every time something goes wrong, as if it were him on the field rather than the players at his disposal.
Conte’s Inter have managed to pick up 28 points after 11 games, leading to a projection of 90 – which is 10 points more than what Inter won their last Scudetto with and seven points shy of their record tally of 97 set by Roberto Mancini’s Inter.
Conte will try to have his team stay in the title fight until the very end as early as this year but he wants to make sure that he has a team capable of going for the league next year. There is no time to waste and Inter have two transfer windows to form Conte’s side.
