The Difference In Quality Between Inter’s Bench To Juventus’ Is Vast

Gazzetta dello Sport have looked at the difference in quality between the bench of Inter’s to that of their arch-rivals Juventus in today’s print edition.

It goes without saying that Juventus’ squad depth is completely unrivalled in Italy and therefore it should not be all that big a surprise that they are able to bring players off the bench who can make an impact.

Against Parma for example, the Bianconeri club had a bench worth around €400 million with them able to call upon players such as Matthijs De Ligt, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic among many others.

Six times this season a Juventus substitute has contributed something off the bench with three goals and three assists coming from substitutes.

Inter meanwhile have only had one contribution off the bench which came from Nicolo Barella as he scored the leveller in the 1-1 draw at home to Slavia Prague in the Champions League back in September.

There have been plenty flashes with the likes of Matteo Politano in particular impressing off the bench but the horror show Valentino Lazaro suffered against Sassuolo when he came on from the bench is still fresh in the mind of Inter supporters.
