Brazilian Journalist Casagrande: “Flamengo Willing To Pay €15m For Inter’s Gabigol”

Jornal O Dia journalist Vene Casagrande has told Passione Inter that he does not think that Flamengo will be able to meet Inter’s demands for striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

“Gabigol is having an unforgettable year at Flamengo. In addition to being the top scorer in the Brazilian league and in Brazilian football in general, he managed to score both goals in the victory against River Plate in Copa Libertadores. He has certainly put his name in the club history books among the likes of Nunes, Zico and Adriano.”

“As far as we understand, Inter have not sold him yet, but this is the best time to do it and recover the money that they invested in him as Gabigol is having the best season of his career.

“I think if he is sold to Flamengo it will not be for €20 million. The information I have is that Flamengo is willing to pay €15 million. I think it will be difficult for them to reach €20 million.”

He was then asked where he thinks Gabigol could realistically find himself if his next step in his career is to another club in Europe.

“I don’t see him being at a big European club, like Real Madrid or Barcelona. I think a second-level team like Sevilla could be a good compromise for him.”
