Mario Sconcerti: “Lukaku Is A Super Athlete, What He Did For Inter’s First Goal Was Exceptional, Lautaro Martinez Is Like Mazzola”

Noted jouralist Mario Sconcerti has sung the praises of Inter strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez off the back of their performance in the 3-1 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League.

“Inter have improved a lot in the Champions League. In terms of general spirit, Inter are a team reminiscent to the Inter of Herrera,” he started his column in the print edition of Corriere della Sera.

“Lukaku is the focal point in the attack. What he did for the first goal was exceptional. Lukaku does not play amongst similarly super athletes to himself and he plays with a naturalness that is almost scary.

“We must also continue to emphasis the difference that Lautaro, who is scoring important goals regularly, is making. He is reminding me more and more of Sandro Mazzola with his ability to control the ball and place his shots.”

He also praised Borja Valero who made his first start of the campaign.

“Borja Valero played well despite him not being the same player for at least two years. His performance specificially shows the balance of this Inter in the sense that it is not essential to run but to be in the right place and always in front of the opponent.”
