Conte Wants de Paul Signed To Strengthen Inter’s Midfield

Inter manager Antonio Conte wants Rodrigo de Paul signed in the January transfer window to strengthen his midfield department according to a report in today’s paper edition of Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Udinese are understood to value the versatile Argentine between €30-35 million but Inter are keen to bring the price down by inserting a player or two into the deal.

Federico Dimarco could be offered to the Bianconeri club on a permanent basis or alternatively, Inter could offer young prospect Lucien Agoume on a dry loan for the remainder of the season to provide Udinese a replacement for de Paul in the middle of the park.

The report goes on to state that with Alexis Sanchez and Matteo Politano set to return from their respective injury troubles, Inter are likely to cool their interest in Olivier Giroud for the January window.

The Nerazzurri have drawn strong links to the 33-year-old Frenchman, who has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea, as of late and it now looks like they will instead go in for him in the Summer when he will be a free agent.
