Inter Defender Skriniar: “It Wasn’t Easy To Win Against Slavia Prague, It’s Nice To Have Lukaku & Lautaro In The Team”

In an interview with Czech news outlet Idnes, Milan Skriniar has reflected on the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 win over Slavia Prague.

“It was not easy for us to win as Slavia Prague have a quality team. It will also not be easy for us to qualify either but we are in a good position. Slavia’s penalty? It was not pleasant to concede but it was clear. That is VAR for you and you can not do anything about it.”

He then spoke on how he has found adapting to the three man defensive system.

“It took us a while to get used to the new style of play. Personally, I had never played a three man defense before but now I feel better with every game I play and I am happy.”

He concluded by speaking on in-form teammates Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

“It’s nice to have them in our side; they score but at the same time they are extremely important for the team as a whole. They press the defenders and win back the ball which is incredibly important for the the rest of the group.

“Romelu is extremely powerful, you can only take the ball off him if it bounces off of him, I know because I have learnt this in training. We are happy to have him and benefit from his presence.
