Inter are one of several clubs who have performed better on their travels this season in Serie A than they have performed on home soil, a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport highlights.

Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri side have won seven from seven on the road this season whilst they have won five of seven at home.

Brescia, Lecce, Atalanta, AC Milan and Torino also find themselves in the same boat as Inter in having performed better away from home.

Between 1994 and 2014 in Serie A, the team playing at home always won more than 60% of their games but this season, home teams have won just 52.3% whilst the away team has won 47.3% of the time, the report details.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that it is no coincidence that European football’s governing body UEFA are thinking about getting rid of the away goals rule in competitions that require it as the playing field looks almost even nowadays.
