Champions League Progression Could Be The Difference In Inter Signing Arturo Vidal

Progression in the Champions League could help Inter management satisfy manager Antonio Conte’s desire to be re-united with Arturo Vidal according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Inter officials recently met with Barcelona officials to hold talks over potential transfer dealings between the clubs in the not so distant future and the player’s agent is soon expected to meet with the Blaugrana to discuss his client’s future with them.

Inter management have doubts about moving for Vidal due to his age but would find it difficult to say no to Conte if they progress in the Champions League due to the money that that will bring in. Moreover, the sale of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa would almost certainly cover the funds required to land Vidal.

The report from the Turin newspaper goes on to add that Barcelona would like to secure a right of first refusal on Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, something they may secure through a deal with Inter over Vidal.

The Catalan giants are believed to be extremely interested in the 22-year-old Argentine, who has scored 13 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
