Barcelona have not lost a Champions League group stage match in just over three years, a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport highlights ahead of their meeting with Inter tonight.
The Catalan club last lost back in November 2016 when Manchester City beat them 3-1, which is their only defeat in their past 33 group stage matches. Since that match against the reigning Premier League champions, they have went on a run of 19 games without defeat.
Despite it widely being expected that Barcelona will deploy a largely rotated squad for tonight’s match given they are already through as group winners, those who do play will undoubtedly wish to stretch that run to 20 games.
Inter head into this game against the Blaugrana knowing that a win will see progress into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri side will also make it through if they match the result that Borussia Dortmund achieve against Slavia Prague.
