There are several reasons behind Arturo Vidal’s desire to leave Barcelona and return to Italy according to a report in today’s print edition of Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Vidal greatly appreciates that Inter manager Antonio Conte intends to give him regular playing time and make him a central figure of the Nerazzurri project.

The 32-year-old Chilean has been left frustrated by Barcelona manager’s Ernesto Valverde’s recent praise of him which Vidal feels means he should be playing more, but that has not been the case.

Moreover, Vidal would like a return to Italy due to the contract Inter are reportedly willing to give him. Whilst the financial side of the contract will be largely similar, the duration of the contract will be longer than the one he currently has with Barcelona.

This season he has made 19 appearances across all competitions, just six of which have come as a starter. In 767 minutes on the park, he has scored five goals and provided a single assist.
