Barcelona have began the process of looking for a replacement for Arturo Vidal in the event he is to depart the club this month according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

There has been intense speculation in recent weeks regarding Vidal leaving the club to join Inter, who are understood to see him as their number one priority.

Inter have made a €12 million offer but this has been rejected with Barcelona looking for €20 million for the 32-year-old Chilean international, who is seemingly desperate to leave the Blaugrana to join Inter, a move which would see him reunited with former manager Antonio Conte.

As per the Rome based newspaper’s report, Barcelona have already made an offer to Palmeiras for young midfielder Matheus Fernandes.

The reigning Spanish champions have offered €6 million for the 21-year-old but a deal is complicated due to the fact Palmeiras do not own all of his registration rights.
