Inter’s idea of a swap deal that would involve Matias Vecino going to Tottenham Hotspur in exchange for Christian Eriksen has failed to take off according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.
Eriksen’s deal with the Premier League outfit is due to expire at the end of the season meaning Inter could sign him on a free in the Summer but they want to avoid a bidding war by trying to land him this month.
The reason Spurs will not entertain a swap deal is due to them wanting to cash in on Eriksen so they at least get something for him with him absolutely set on leaving the club in the Summer.
Spurs are understood to be demanding a sum of €20 million for the 27-year-old Danish international, who has been playing for them since 2013 when he joined from Dutch giants Ajax.
This season Eriksen has made 24 appearances across all competitions. In almost 1400 minutes, he has scored three goals and tallied as many assists.
