Dries Mertens representatives hope to be able to secure their client a move away from Napoli this month according to a report in today’s print edition of Il Mattino.
The Belgian forward’s contract is up at the end of this season and Inter are among clubs to have shown an interest in signing him on a free transfer in the Summer but it might not come to that.
As per the report, his representatives are offering him out to Premier League and La Liga sides and due to his expiring contract status it could take just €7-10 million to prize him away from the Stadio San Paolo.
The report goes on to state that the idea of him moving to China has faded due to new Chinese government restrictions that have led to a stricter wage cap being put in place for foreign players.
This season the 32-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions. In 1425 minutes on the field, he has scored nine goals and provided four assists.
