The swap deal between Inter and Roma that would see Matteo Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola exchanged is on standby according to a report on the website of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
The deal looked set to be completed but the situation has changed and both clubs are refusing to budge from their new stances.
The clubs had agreed to do a loan swap deal with both clubs having an obligation to buy but Inter are now wanting it to be an option to buy instead or just a dry loan swap.
Spinazzola successfully passed his standard medical checks but Inter wanted assurances and asked Roma if he could conduct further tests but Roma rejected Inter’s request.
As per the report, the two players both remain in the cities of their prospective new employers and are waiting to see if the deal can be worked out between the two clubs or not.
