Inter’s Italian international winger Matteo Politano could end up joining Roma after all Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported on air moments ago.

According to the report, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta spoke with Roma CEO Guido Fienga earlier today to try and ease the tensions between the two clubs following the collapse of the Spinazzola-Politano swap deal.

Politano has made it absolutely clear that he is only interested in joining Roma having declined advances from La Liga side Sevilla these past few days.

Inter are willing to fulfill the former Sassuolo player’s wish but only on their terms, meaning a dry loan deal or a loan deal with an option to buy is out of the question. The Nerazzurri are only interested in a permanent transfer or if they are to loan him to the Giallorossi, it would have to include a clause where the loan becomes an obligation to buy after a certain number of matches have been played.
