RB Leipzig have made further contact with Valentino Lazaro over a potential move to them according to a report in from German news outlet BILD.
Leipzig’s number one priority this month is to reinforce their defence and Lazaro is one of several players they have identified.
Lazaro joined Inter this past Summer from Leipzig’s fellow Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin in a circa €20 million deal but has struggled to cement his place in Inter manager Antonio Conte’s starting line-up.
The report goes on to explain that Leipzig face competition from Premier League side Newcastle United for the 23-year-old Austrian’s signature and for this reason they are continuing to look around.
Since his arrival, Lazaro has made just 11 appearances across all competitions in a Nerazzurri shirt and just four of those appearances have come as a starter. In 513 minutes on the field, the former Red Bull Salzburg player has provided two assists for his teammates.
