Walter Zenga: “What Inter Are Doing Is Particularly Beautiful”

In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, Inter legend Walter Zenga has shared his opinion on the team’s performance in their 1-1 draw away to Lecce yesterday afternoon.

“Inter cannot say they did not have plenty of chances but they were not as good as they usually are. They were lacking aggression and tempo. Lecce deserve credit though for their performance,” he explained.

Next Zenga, who spent no less than 16 years on Inter’s books between 1978 and 1994, then spoke on the club’s pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.

“Inter have decided to go for Eriksen as they need creativity. He is a number 10 capable of scoring goals. Conte will probably change his system. Inter want to sign ready made players because they want to win soon.”

He concluded the interview by sharing his thoughts on the Inter team’s performances overall this season: “What this Inter is doing is something particularly beautiful.”
