Legendary Italian football manager Arrigo Sacchi reflected on Inter’s 1-1 draw away to Lecce as part of his column in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Inter stutters in Conte’s hometown. I must also deplore at the rudeness of some of the Lecce fans rudeness towards one of their own,” the column begins.
“Everyone can have a bad day when the legs do not work as well, the ideas do not come off or the tension is not there but the Nerazzurri stumbled on a bad day. In football and in general, to win, you need to have an extraordinary will and fierce determination.
It concludes: “Sensi and Barella are not in the best of shapes after being idle for so long. Lukaku and Lautaro had a bad day too. They both stood still. The team’s speed and slow tempo did not help them either. As I said, a bad day can happen to everyone.”
