In an interview with Roman newspaper La Repubblica, Inter legend Alessandro Altobelli has spoken on what the arrival of Christian Eriksen could mean for Inter’s game plan.

Inter remain in talks with Tottenham Hotspur of the 27-year-old and multiple reports have suggested Inter could finalise the deal by the end of this week.

“Conte is a master of tactics. He will be able to vary his formation with the Dane, even when the game is in progress,” he began.

Next Altobelli, who spent 11 years on Inter’s books between 1977 and 1988, spoke on what Conte needs to do to get his Inter side back on top of the Serie A table with them now trailing league leaders and arch-rivals Juventus by four points.

“He will have to have the team take more risks than they did against Lecce if he wants to get back in the lead. Inter have exceeded all expectations, but against this Juventus it has still not been enough.”
