Inter club captain and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic remains reluctant to try and blame the referee for Inter failing to beat Cagliari yesterday.
“There was a lot nervousness in the final minutes of the game, which perhaps came as a result of the lack of decisions in our favour but it was not the referee who affected this game,” he stressed in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.
Inter had plenty chances to put the game beyond doubt but squandered them. Radja Nainggolan exacted his revenge on Inter by scoring 10 minutes from the end of the match which meant the game ended 1-1.
This was the fourth time in the last six Serie A matches that Inter have drawn but despite this poor run of form, results over the weekend went in Inter’s favour.
Leaders Juventus lost to Napoli and third place Lazio lost against arch-rivals Roma meaning Inter remain in second place after 21 games played this season.
