Lautaro Martinez will serve a two match ban after being sent off during Sunday afternoon’s 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari.
The Lega Serie A sports judge has given his verdicts for all of the events that occurred this past weekend in the league and decided to slap the Argentine international with a two match ban as well as a fine of €15,000.
The 22-year-old was sent off at the end of the match between the Nerazzurri and Rossoblu clubs at San Siro as he protested excessively to referee Gianluca Manganiello after being handed a yellow card.
The sports judge’s report states that Lautaro acted in an intimidating manner and shouted several derogatory phrases at Manganiello in Spanish.
Lautaro will therefore miss Inter’s match away to Udinese this weekend and Milan derby at home the following weekend.
Inter reserve goalkeeper Tomasso Berni has also been given a two match suspension for his actions. Following the match, Berni stormed onto the pitch and approached Manganiello in a threatening manner and was given a post-match red card.
Finally, the sports judge has fined Inter €20,000 for the conduct of the players and coaching staff at the end of the match.
