Inter’s Italian winger Antonio Candreva stopped by Italian broadcaster RAI Sport moments ago to share his thoughts on the first 45 minutes in the quarterfinal where his Nerazzurri host Fiorentina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
The former Lazio and Juventus player was asked how he thought the Nerazzurri played and if they expected Fiorentina to prove as difficult an opponent as they have been. Candreva acknowledged that the Inter players were expecting a difficult match and that they need to remain focused in the second half to win the game.
“We knew that it was going to be difficult. We have to have patience in order to be able to find the right opening to score.
“We have to continue like this after the break, we need to remain concentrated because there’s a long way left to go in this match.”
Inter lead Fiorentina after the first half by 1-0 thanks to a goal from the former Lazio man Candreva who scored just before the break assisted by Argentinian international Lautaro Martinez.
Antonio Candreva joined Inter in the summer of 2016 from Lazio for a fee widely reported to be in the region of €22 million and has since then featured 123 times for the Nerazzurri across all competitions scoring 15 goals in the process.
