Inter manager Antonio Conte addressed the squad yesterday to discuss what happened at the end of Inter’s 1-1 Serie A draw at home to Cagliari this past weekend according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
The game ended in controversy as referee Gianluca Manganiello sent Inter striker Lautaro Martinez off for excessively protesting to a yellow card for a non-existent foul.
Upon the full time whistle, several Inter players who were on the bench and coaching staff, including Conte, stormed onto the pitch at San Siro to confront Manganiello and make their feelings known about how they felt he had officiated the match.
As per the report from the Rome based newspaper, Conte stressed to the team that the attitude he and the team showcased at the end of the match was wrong. The former Italian national team manager also demanded that things are handled more calmly in future.
