Inter are considering to make an attempt to sign Leicester City owned Algerian international striker Islam Slimani, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert reported live on air moments ago.
According to the report, the idea to sign the player who is currently out on loan with Ligue 1 side Monaco, was born out of the idea that he is represented by Italian agent Federico Pastorello, whom Inter are working closely with.
The Nerazzurri are currently in talks with the 31-year old former Newcastle United player’s representatives to see if a deal can be agreed before contacting Monaco and Leicester City to see if they are open to letting the striker join Inter.
It remains to be seen what formula the deal would take but most likely it would be a dry loan or a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Slimani signed for Leicester City in the summer of 2016 from Portuguese side Sporting, reportedly for a then club record transfer fee in the region £28 million but failed to impress and has been loaned out to Newcastle, Fenerbahce and recently Monaco.
