Inter wing back Antonio Candreva spoke with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV immediately after helping Inter to record a 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia quarter finals last night at San Siro.
The experienced Italian international, who joined the club back in the Summer of 2016 from Lazio, opened the scoring for Antonio Conte’s side just before the half time whistle was blown.
Martin Caceres pulled the visiting Viola back level shortly after the second half began but Nicolo Barella quickly put Inter back ahead with what proved to be the winning goal in the end as he scored from outside the box.
Inter will now face Napoli in the semi final stage with the first leg coming up in a few weeks time and then the second leg taking place at the beginning of March. The winners of the tie will face either AC Milan or Juventus in the final.
“We had a great game. We really wanted to progress to the next round. We now need to think about the league again as a difficult away match is waiting for us.”
He continued: “My goal celebration? It was a joke with Lautaro Martinez.”
He concluded by speaking on the change of system: “We have tried this alternative system out in recent days. This result gives us confidence after the three straight draws we had got in the league.”
