Inter manager Antonio Conte is facing another injury crisis in the midfield according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Marcelo Brozovic has missed Inter’s past two matches with an ankle sprain and is trying his best to recover in time for this weekend’s Serie A match away to Udinese.
Borja Valero and Stefano Sensi are both dealing with muscle problems and both missed the 2-1 win over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia quarter finals on Wednesday night at San Siro.
Roberto Gagliardini is also dealing with an injury and has bone edema, a condition where fluid builds up in the bone marrow.
As things stand, Inter only have two natural central midfielders fit at the moment in Nicolo Barella and Matias Vecino. New signing Christian Eriksen is a natural attacking midfielder but it will come as a great relief to Conte that he is also very much capable of playing as a central midfielder too.
