Inter are working on securing their biggest stars with new contracts, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Milanese side are going to offer captain Samir Handanovic a contract that will expire a year later than his current deal, tying him to the club until 2022. The club will also include higher wages in the 35-year-old Slovenian goalkeeper’s contract.
Inter will also work on creating a new contract for star striker Lautaro Martinez, the report continues. The Nerazzurri are keen to raise his release clause from €111 million in order to ward off interested parties such as Barcelona. The Argentine striker’s current deal expires in 2023.
Other players that Inter will look to offer new contracts to, the report adds, are teenage starlet Sebastiano Esposito, Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella, 20-year-old Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni and veteran full back Danilo D’Ambrosio.
