Inter legend Luis Suarez believes that whilst Inter have been doing well as of late, they are still lacking one key thing to their game.
“Inter have been doing well lately, but they still lack the necessary consistency in order to win something important,” the Spaniard explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli earlier on today.
He then went on to discuss this past Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina which was one for the ages as Inter came from 2-0 down to win 4-2.
“The win in the derby was important. It gives more confidence and confidence to the team and the manager. I think the game against Lazio will be the final exam for them.”
He then spoke briefly on Inter new boy Christian Eriksen.
“Eriksen is a good player and I think it will be important for Inter.”
He concluded by talking on Inter’s chances of being crowned Serie A champions come the end of the season.
“It will be hard to win the title because Juventus are going strong.”
Suarez spent nine years with Inter between 1961 and 1970 and was an integral part of Hector Herrera’s Grande Inter side. The now 84-year-old, who won the Balon d’Or once during his playing career, made a total of 319 appearances across all competitions in a Nerazzurri shirt.
He scored half a century of goals in his time with the club who he won two Champions League’s, two Intercontinental Cup’s and three Serie A titles with.
