British Report Claims Chelsea Willing To Meet Inter’s Demands For Matias Vecino

Chelsea are willing to meet Inter’s asking price for midfielder Matias Vecino according to a report from British news outlet, The Daily Express.

Inter, as per the report, want £23 million for the Uruguayan international, which is approximately €27 million and Inter manager Antonio Conte is seemingly unopposed to letting the 28-year-old go as the funds raised through his sale will help him toward signing his own transfer targets in the Summer.

Chelsea are not the only Premier League club to have shown an interest in the former Fiorentina man as of late with many reports linking Everton with a move for him too. The Toffees reportedly went in for Vecino in the recent January transfer window but their offers fell short of Inter’s asking price.

Vecino, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2017, has a contract with Inter through to the end of the 2021/22 season. He was signed for €24 million and given the amortisation that has occurred, Inter stand to make a tidy profit on him.

This season he has made 20 appearances across all competitions, in which he has notched three goals and tallied a single assist.
