Godin Likely To Play Instead Of Bastoni Tonight For Inter Against Lazio Due To Having More Big Game Experience

Inter manager Antonio Conte is still not entirely set on who he will deploy in two positions on tonight’s match away to fellow Serie A title chasers Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

Conte is debating with himself whether to play Alessandro Bastoni or Diego Godin in the three man back-line alongside Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar.

Bastoni has overtaken Godin in the pecking order and now starts most weeks but the veteran Uruguayan international has far more big game experience than the 20-year-old does and could therefore be considered a safer bet for a match of this magnitude.

The other position Conte is undecided on is right wing back. Antonio Candreva and Danilo D’Ambrosio are the two names he is considering. Candreva has been revitalised under Conte whilst it has to be remembered that D’Ambrosio scored the winning goal the last time Inter and Lazio met in the league.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-5-2) Daniele Padelli; Diego Godin, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino, Ashley Young; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
