Christian Eriksen is likely to be handed his second start for Inter since his January transfer window arrival in Thursday night’s Europa League round of 32 first leg against Ludogorets according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Following his arrival, Eriksen has made a total of five appearances but just one start which has left many questioning what Inter manager Antonio Conte is doing with him.
As per the report, Conte has a number of reasons for almost holding Eriksen back despite all the quality he is known to posses.
The first reason is that Conte does not feel Eriksen is physically ready to play in his team yet and thus needs to get up to speed and used to the physical demands that Conte places on his players.
Moreover, Conte feels that Eriksen needs time to adapt and to learn his ways, something he does not think is easy nor something that can be done in an instant.
Conte is big on the idea of the team being one big group and does not want to make any exceptions for Eriksen by just playing him when he is not, in his eyes, ready.
