Inter’s match this weekend versus Sampdoria at San Siro is to get ahead as planned despite the fact there is now one confirmed case of Coronavirus in the Lombardy region according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.
FIGC, the Italian football federation, have been in contact with the relevant authorities and do not feel serious action such as postponing the match is required at the moment. They will remain in contact with authorities and are ready to make a decision on the match if things are to worsen.
Whilst Inter and Sampdoria has not been affected, some 42 amateur level games in the region have already been postponed due to the virus being in the area. The remaining 462 scheduled amateur games in the region are still expected to proceed as planned.
Third placed Inter are to play host to 17th placed Sampdoria on Sunday evening with kick-off scheduled for 20:45 local time.
