Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi may miss next summer’s European Championships with Italy due to his injury problems, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 24-year-old Italian midfielder, who arrived from Sassuolo last summer, has missed over 15 games for the Nerazzurri so far this season due to different injuries. He previously suffered a adductor muscle tear in October, before fracturing his left foot last month. He has now returned to training.
Italy coach Roberto Mancini has multiple top midfielders to choose from, the report continues, including Marco Verratti, Nicolo Barella and Jorginho. Sensi will now need to convince the former Inter and Manchester City coach of his qualities before the end of the season, in order to be brought to this summer’s European Championships.
The 24-year-old Italian has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1005 minutes. In that time, he’s scored three goals and provided four assists.
