Inter captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is hoping to be able to return for Inter’s Derby d’Italia match away to Juventus this coming weekend according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
The Slovenian shot-stopper has missed Inter’s past few games as a result of a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand but his condition is improving by the day and he is nearing a full recovery.
The report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to state that Handanovic’s absence has really highlighted to club management the need for a solid back-up goalkeeper.
Daniele Padelli has deputised in the absence of Samir Handanovic but has not exactly convinced with his performances with him making several errors in judgement during his appearances which have mostly cost Inter.
From next season, Inter could call upon Ionut Andrei Radu to be his back-up. Inter could bring in Udinese’s Juan Musso with it understood Inter are keeping a close eye on him.
With Inter eyeing a new back-up, Padelli will be demoted to the third goalkeeper and Inter will bid farewell to Tomasso Berni.
