Inter president Steven Zhang sent a message to former Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti, which was received on the Italian TV show ‘Che tempo che fa’, hosted by Italian broadcaster Rai 2 yesterday.

The letter details the Chinese businessman’s gratitude to Moratti and his love for the Nerazzurri.

“Dear Massimo, there are a million things I would like to share with you but in this short message I would like to thank you for helping me to enter the Nerazzurri world that has completely changed my life.

“The people inside the club, around and outside the club and especially myself. I want to make you proud and hope I never disappoint you. I will continue to write this glorious story. No doubt we will continue to fight and never give up. Forza Inter.”

The 29-year-old Chinese businessman took over at the club’s president in October 2018. He is the son of Suning founder Jindong Zhang, whose company bought the Nerazzurri in 2016. Since Zhang’s arrival as president, the Nerazzurri have been working hard to become more competitive and fight Juventus’ domestic dominance.

The Suning group have invested heavily in the club’s training facilities, their squad, hiring coach Antonio Conte and signing multiple stars such as Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. Inter are currently 3rd in the league table after 24 games, sitting five points behind Lazio and six points behind rivals Juventus.
