News on whether this weekend’s Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter will be played behind closed doors or not is expected in the coming hours with the local Piedmont government set to meet according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.
The Piedmont governor Alberto Cirio is to hold a meeting with all the mayors from the many regions of Piedmont and there will be other officials present at the meeting too which is due to start at 6pm local time.
The main reason for the meeting is to discuss the current restrictions in place as a result of the Coronavirus and whether to extend them past Saturday, when they are due to expire.
The outcome of this meeting will have an affect on the match between the two great rivals and will ultimately determine whether there will be fans present at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night or not.
