Inter Defender Ranocchia: “We’re Happy, Now We Can Think About Juventus”

Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia has shared his delight after Inter secured their place in the next round of the Europa League knockout stages after a 4-1 aggregate victory over reigning Bulgarian champions Ludogorets.

The Nerazzurri won the first leg of the tie 2-0 in Razgrad last week thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku and won 2-1 earlier on tonight thanks to Cristiano Biraghi and Lukaku again.

Ranocchia started for the second consecutive match at San Siro tonight in a match that was played behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

“Our goal was to get to the next round and we have done it. We are happy, now we can think of the match on Sunday,” the experienced Italian defender explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV.

He was then asked if there is anyone in particular that he wishes to face in the next round of the competition: “We do not decide who we play. What happens, happens.”

In conclusion he spoke on this coming weekend’s Serie A match away to arch rivals Juventus, which will also be played behind closed doors.

“The match against Juventus will be very important. We will have to be prepared. I don’t think that playing behind closed doors will have a big impact. Juve-Inter always requires a certain kind of preparation. “
