Italian Report Claims Ludogorets’ Goal Against Inter Last Night Shouldn’t Have Stood

Daniel Siebert and his fellow match officials wrongly allowed Ludogorets goal to stand in last night’s 2-1 defeat away to Inter in the Europa League according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Cauly gave the visitors an unlikely lead on the 26th minute against the run of play but his goal came after he did in fact foul Inter defender Diego Godin.

Upon fouling Godin, Cauly then slammed the ball in at close range but the goal should not have stood in the eyes of the Milan based newspaper who are adamant that Cauly shoved Godin.

This was not the only contentious decision made in the match that was played behind closed doors at San Siro either, the report goes on. Soon after Ludogorets’ opener, Inter wing back Victor Moses went down in the box after his foot was trodden on by Ludogorets captain Svetoslav Dyakov. However despite clear contact, no penalty was given to Inter.
