Juventus Confirm They Are Evaluating Ways To Deal With Tickets Purchased For Inter Match Which Will Now Be Behind Closed Doors

In an official statement posted on their official club website, Juventus have confirmed they are evaluating ways in which they can deal with tickets that were purchased for this weekend’s game at home to Inter.

The Lega Serie A have now confirmed that the match will be one of five in Serie A this weekend that will be played behind closed doors as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak and it now remains to be seen what decision Juventus come to.

Reports in the Italian media in the past few days have suggested that the Bianconeri club, who are chasing a ninth straight Serie A title, would not be refunding fans who had bought tickets due to their policy on refunds but the fact they have released a statement on the matter would appear to suggest that something may be done and fans will not be left out of pocket.

“Juventus-Inter, scheduled for 20:45 on Sunday 1 March at the Allianz Stadium, will be played behind closed doors. Lega Serie A communicated, in compliance with the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers from 25 February 2020, Further implementing provisions of the decree-law from 23 February 2020, n. 6, containing urgent measures regarding the containment and management of the epidemiological emergency that is COVID-19,” the statement begins.

“Without prejudice to the validity of the provisions governing the purchase of tickets, the Club – considering the peculiarity of the national situation – is evaluating initiatives in favour of purchasers.”
