Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his excitement ahead of this weekend’s Derby D’Italia against arch rivals Inter at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

“It’s a great match, like Barça-Real will be on Sunday. It’s nice to play games like that, against Inter or Milan or Lazio they are all great all matches that players like to play in. Against Inter will be a fantastic game against a fantastic manager and team,” the multi-time world player of the year told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.

The Portuguese attacker, who has been with the Bianconeri club for little over 18 months now following a circa €100 million move from Real Madrid, then went on to share his disappointment at the fact the game will be getting played behind closed doors as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

“We are not happy because the fans will not be there, we are sorry but the responsibilities remain the same. We have to win, we are playing at home and I hope that we can get a great result.

“It will be strange to play such an important game in a stadium without fans. It is not beautiful, but public health remains the most important thing. The decision to play behind closed doors is the safest solution and we must respect it.”

The 35-year-old has been in sublime form this season for the reigning Italian champions having netted an impressive 25 goals in 31 games across all competitions to date. In his almost 2800 minutes on the park, he has also provided three assists for his teammates.

Sunday’s match is scheduled to take place at 20:45 local time and will see the sides currently sitting in first and third place respectively lock horns for the second time this season.
